About U-352

This is usually the first dive that visitors to North Carolina come to see. Because the wreck is small and intact, it can be circumnavigated a few times during a single dive. She sits on her keel with a strong list to the starboard side and most of what you see on the bottom is the remains of the pressure hull. Most of the outer casing of the U-boat has rusted away. For experienced North Carolina divers, it can be tedious waiting for the boat captain to hook the wreck (it has small, rounded edges and is very difficult to hook). New North Carolina divers should be very careful when diving the U-352 as she has been the site of many diving accidents and fatalities. The wreck is great for photography and is home to various examples of small to mid-size marine life. The bow is currently slightly collapsed and twisted, but the starboards propeller has been uncovered. This is a good site but it can get very crowded at times.
