About Three Tables

The Three Tables site is so-called because of a trio of flat rocks that stretches perpendicular to the shoreline. These rocks break the surface and then reach their largest at 40 to 50 feet high. There are attractions on either side of the 'tables': lava tubes on the right hand side, as well as a wall with some interesting coral and boulder formations on the left. Due to strong winter waves the substrata are smooth and generally coral-free. There are regular sightings of eels, parrotfish, octopus, and tropical fish, as well as sporadic visits from sharks, rays and turtles, which can make the dive more exciting. Snaggles is a neighboring site which is best explored at night and is reached through a small cove in the back of the fire department. Snorkel 20 yards along the wall, dive 25 feet and then follow the wall again for another 300 yards. Here one can find arches and lava tubes, which are ideal spots for large moray eels, lobsters, and parrotfish. There are shower and restroom facilities available at this site.
