About The Forward, Lake George

Sunken wooden pleasure boat built in 1906, sunk in 1930's. Some of 45 ft. hull remains and the engines are fairly well preserved. New York State has converted it into an underwater laboratory. A sunken cabin cruiser is nearby, with a grid laid out on the bow to simulate an underwater excavation site. Site is well marked with surface buoy and underwater signage. Must tie up to the mooring buoy; anchor use is not permitted within 500 feet.
