The Chaparra was a Cuban Freighter used to transport sugar from Havana to New York. Chaparra means Cowboy in English. She sunk in October 1918 after being hit by a mine from a German Submarine. Today she rests on a sandy bottom and home to a wide variety of marine life. Excellent bottom topography.
