Also known as the 'Nohab' This ship was built in 1901 in Kiel, Germany, under the commision of Duke Friedrich August Von Oldenbrug. The Duke then gave this ship to Kaiser Wilhelm 11 of Germany as a gift. At this stage, the ship was named 'Lensahn' and was highly admired by the Keiser. In 1914, war eruted in Europe and the Nohab was turned into a hospital ship and sold to a swiss magnate. Several years later, the Nohab was sold again and ended up in New York. This time the new owner planned to turn it into a nightclub. In 1934 a hurricane caused her to sink while at anchor. There wre seven men aboard of which 5 died. She was raised and sold again. The new owner believed he could restore the vessel and towed her back to Tampa. Soon he realised he's wasting to much money on refurbishments. The same year she sank again while at anchor. This time in shallow water. Great coral growth and a large variety of marine fish covers this wreck today.
