About Ni'ihau Arches

This site is located off the island of Niihau at East Kikepa Point. A 10 meter archway gives this site its name. The population of the island is less than 300, consisting mostly of Hawaiian-speaking ranchers. Ni'ihau's has a dry climate and there is lack of fresh water. It is located among formations such as valleys, ridges and lava tubes up to 30 meter in length. There are arches, swim throughs and large caves formed by swirled lava with sink holes and pinnacles. Bring a light on this one as some of these caves are very large. There is a vertical wall nearby. This is a great place to watch large fish.
