About Macedonia

This dive site features the wreck of the Macedonia, a large wreck that sits roughly north south and is contiguous. The majority of the iron wreckage lies quite low, about 6 feet off the bottom with jagged bits. The debris is spread all around the main wreck site. There are hull plates that have fallen inwards and create smooth overhangs. It is advised to dive the southern section or aft of this ship where one can see the engine, boilers, propeller and drive shaft. It is easier to become disoriented in the bow section as it is disorganized and does not feature any landmarks.
