About Lake Woahink

While the lake as a whole can get deep, this arm of the lake is a 35 foot max depth dive, and usually has some pretty good vis. The water is often much warmer than the nearby ocean dives, (70 degrees in september), making this a great backup spot on colder days. To find the spot- drive in on canary road, and right after going over the first bridge, park on the right hand side of the road- you'll see a port-a-potty and a picnic table near the water. Dive that area- to the left of your entry spot. There are sunk boats all along the area- totaling around 7 or 8 I know of. Follow the while poles in the ground to have it lead you from one to the other. Many have signs or humorous sayings on them, and They are all within a relatively small area, so you'll be able to see them all in short order. Based on the ease of entry, ease of no currents, and the fact that as fresh water it doesn't have much in the way or marine life, I'd completely recommend this site for someone looking to practice buoyancy, or get wet in some nicer warmer water. Just keep off the bottom as it's silt, so if you muck it up on the first dive, you'r second won't be much to look at.
