About Hesperides

As this site is at a depth of less than 40 feet hour-long dives are common. It is, however, rather difficult to get onto the wreck. It sits in the shoals and is regularly undiveable because of the currents. Exploring the wreck on a rough day is unwise. The steering quadrant juts out from the wreck and comes to within 10 feet of the surface - it could very easily rip a gash into the bottom of a dive boat. The wreck is contiguous and sits on its keel. The bow is mostly intact (with the anchor lying on its port side) and sits upright. The stern also provides some relief and has its rudder, steering quadrant and four bladed propeller still in place.
