About Grimes's Cove

Grimes's Cove is a firm favorite amongst the locals. One can enter the site via a public launch boat. At high tide the depths can go up to 35 feet. One can see lobsters, cunner and sculpin fish here as well as other fin fish. If one cares for it, there is a quaint walk available along a public walkway to the left of the beach. Directions are as follows: Roughly a quarter mile east of Wiscassett, take the state Rt 27 southwards. Once At the shopping center in Boothbay, take a left onto Rt 96. Grimes Cove roughly 5 miles further. One may park near the entry point, or at a church parking lot 50 yards back up the Rt 96.
