About Fenwick Island

This small fishing trawler lies intact on its port side. The wreck can be quite difficult to find as it seems to lie in a depression and the prevailing current runs over the hull and keel leaving the wheelhouse cabin, fishing hold and deck area in the lee of the current. Depending on what sand is moved around by the storms, the wreck can be either reasonably uncovered or almost completely sanded in. Although the visibility is low the wreck is easy to navigate because it is small and in shallow water. The wreck can be easily circumnavigated a number of times in a single dive. This dive is dependent on the visibility conditions and current so it is only worth a visit perhaps once a year. This site is not often visited.
