About Esso Nashville

This wreck is the bow half of a ship known as the Esso Nashville. The stern section of the Nashville was towed back to port and was later refitted to another ship. The bow is intact and lies upside down and the starboard side is the highest relief on the wreck, rising about 15 to 20 feet above the sand. The hull is beginning to break away and fall sideways but the deck area is completely buried in sand. There is a deep sand washout near the anchor and at this point the wreck can be penetrated to a depth of more than 120 feet. Aft of the bow the bow flattens into a series of buckled hull plates, masts and pipes. One can easily explore this wreck in just one dive and the site is similar to the bow of the Naeco.
