About Babbs Rock

Babbs Rock can be found in a smallish bay on the western side of Appledore Island, close to the Shoals Marine Laboratory. The shoreline is a ledge that lowers towards a gravel and sand bottom with the odd protruding ledge. To the northern side of the site, the wreck of a World War Two pier allows for a great view of marine life and vegetation. One only needs a snorkel to see this section.
