About Atlantus

The Atlantus, a experimental concrete ship built during World War One was a one of a kind vessel. Its hull was built out of reinforced concrete instead of steel, which was becoming rare due to the war. This design change allowed for numerous advantages such as a lower vibration and noise as well as a dryer cargo area. When the war ended, steel became the cheaper option once again.
