About HMS Whirlwind

This wreck was a "WW2 Royal Navy Hunter Class Destroyer" that was built in 1943. She sank on 1 November 1974 when bad weather hit and she was used as a target. She didn't stand a chance due to the fact that she was damaged after being hit by missiles. There is a large amount of marine life that find this wreck home. It makes an excellent dive with a number of places to penetrate. This site is advised for advanced divers only due to depths and currents.
