About Benghazi

In 1947 the Benghazi was caught in a storm about 15 kilometers South of Oban.She then struck a rock and began taking on water and sinking,the cook noticed that the bung had come out and he then manually blocked the hole with his hand until other crew members came aboard the lifeboat,they then washes ashore where they tried to keep warm,unfortunately the Bevan (the cook) died during the night.The wreck now lies in the Firth of Lorn
