Fins Scuba, based in Preston, North West England, opened for business in August 1995. Under the guidance of owner Colin Scowcroft, Fins embraced the PADI system of diver education introducing people to the world of scuba diving. Gaining rapid momentum, Fins progressed from a retail dive shop to a PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Centre in 1997. In 2016 Fins was awarded “Dive Centre of the Month” by The Professional Association Instructors out of over 6500 Centres. In 2017 Fins became a Career Development Centre on behalf of PADI.As the only UK PADI CDC with a resident Course Director, Fins Scuba excels in providing scuba divers with a full range of scuba certification programs, scuba gear selection and scuba experience opportunities together with PADI Instructor-level training and the promotion of underwater environmental awareness.The Dive Centre is able to offer a vast choice of diving equipment at very competitive prices to either purchase or rent and they provide on-site servicing of scuba equipment with trained technicians and air fills using their own compressors.Fins Instructors are trained by Platinum Course Director and owner Colin Scowcroft, who has experience of diving and teaching all over the world from the clear, warm waters of the Red Sea to ice diving in Norway, cavern diving in the Mediterranean and underwater photography in the relaxed ambiance of the Caribbean.With over 10,000 dives, Colin has personally taught over 1000 recreational divers and successfully taken approximately 1000+ candidates through their instructor course.
