About Walter Leonardt Wreck

The Walther Leonardt was a German Steamer that was used as a iron ore and transport carrier from Sweden. This vessel was part of the E 19 Submarine Massacre during WW11. She was stopped by a E 19 Submarine to be inspected. The crew were forced out and the Submarine commander blew the vessel by placing charges in her hold. Today she rests in deep water, several miles South of the Ottenby Naturreservat. Very interesting dive with abundant marine and coral life. Good terrain and various artifacts.
