About Postmans

Postmans Reef or simple Postmans to locals is a grand old dive site within the city of Nelson Mandela Bay. It's right on the main beach front promenade and every self-respecting local diver has logged this dive, probably more out of tradition than it scenic value. None-the-less, this site easily reached off the simple shore entry does provide great satisfaction and just like a Postman bearing unexpected gifts can be full of surprises. You might get lucky and spot a Ray or two and there is often an octopus or a school of juveniles around to brighten up the site. The reef gets its name from the old Post Office across the road from the site which is now a tourist information centre. I'd recommend this site to everyone wanting a comprehensive complete log book of local dives. But then, you could simply snorkel it ?
