About Marico Oog

Marico Oog is probably the best inland dive site in South-Africa. With visibility ranging from 10 meters up to 25! A number of fresh water fish can be found here and also fresh water shrimps and eels. The deepest part in the Oog is 15m but most diving here is done in 3-5 meters witch means you can literally dive the whole day. Water temperature ranges from 13 to 18 degrees. The Oog has a training grid that sits on 5 meters. There is also a swim through for the brave. Marico gets pretty cold in the winter so it's best to try go in summer time when it's hot. There are camping spots and also a few chalets. This is one of our favorite spots. Diving Marico Oog is an unforgettable experience. Your boyancy needs to be perfect as the silt at the bottom is very fine and can reduce visibility to zero within a few minutes.
