About Devils Reef

Devil's Reef is found in Algoa Bay, it is an easy shore dive suitable for novices on a calm day and is conveniently situated on the main beachfront promenade of Nelson Mandela Bay adjacent to popular beaches like the very well know Hobie Beach. A 150m swim gets you right on top of the reef 8m down featuring bright seafans and other colorful underwater vegatation. Time your tides as low tides expose the reef and this sand be irritatingly sandy. Also beware of busy days on the main beach. Jet ski's and boat propellers zooming about overhead are more than annoying and are downright dangerous. Beyond that, the site can be very enjoyable, especially for novices taking in the rays, the occasional crayfish and other interesting soft and hard corals.
