About Buffels Bay

Buffels Bay, a popular recreational area, is situated in the Cape Point Nature Reserve. Located about 9km from the entrance gate, the turn off is well signposted. The site is suitable for snorkeling and entry from the shore is easy. This is a popular spot during the winter months and occasionally in summer as it is very sheltered. The remains of the wooden trawler, Tania, are scattrered over the seabed in shallow water, attracting marine life which makes dive more interesting. Large patches of urchins in the kelp forests create beautiful underwater scenery.
