Carlos Relvas, founder and owner of the Calheta Dive Center started to dive in 1968. Before opening the dive center in Madeira, he ran a dive center in Sal Island Cabo Verde, where he still operates in wintertime. Most of the divesites in the Calheta area are discovered and explored by him and a friend. With at least 25 divespots the center can guarantee an interesting and diverse underwater world not seen by many.
