About The Zero

The Mitsubishi A6M Reisen Zero Fighter popular wreck dive in Rabaul - accessed from Gazelle peninsula at Blanche bay beach, north of Simpson Harbour. Entry point is on the beach black sand and lots of local kids amused at the whole diving thing. Heading south there are some starfish on the bottom and sea cucumbers. On the slope there's a marker rope 100m after which is the plane wreck lying at 33. It is intact, propeller blades, main fuselage, open cockpit and attached starboard wing. There's even a cleaning station for morays.
