About Saies Tunnel

The floor of this tunnel was once at sea level during the Ice Age. The dive is one of Palau's more thrilling - to be enjoyed by experienced divers only, and is extremely deep so tunnel time is usually restricted to 12min. The wall projects into the Philippine Sea where, at 50' there's a pointed corner. At 90' you enter the tunnel the goes straight into the wall. Upon entrance there's a window on the left to the sea and the exit directly in front. This is one of windows that open into the chamber. The cavern is well-lit due to these openings. Big-Eye Jacks, snappers and Gray Reef Sharks swim around the opening and inside there's plenty of coral as the light play will reveal. The visibility generally ranges between 45 and 120'. Location: Siaes Corner is perched on the edge of the Marianas Trench the Tunnel itself lies West of Koror, northwest of Ulong Island.
