About Englands Glory

The Englands Glory was a Barque sailing under the command of Captain William Knight. She sank close to Bluff Harbour on November 7, 1881 after she sailed into heavy weather and bad sea conditions. She was slammed into rocks and resulted in total wreckage. Her remains can be found scattered in a sandy seabed no deeper than 20 meters. Today she is home to a large array of marine life and coral growth.
