About Clyde Wreck

The Clyde was a New Zeland Registered Barque. She sank during a heavy storm in November 1884. Heavy seas and gale winds made her steer into land. She broke up and sank within minutes with the loss of 18 lives. Her remains can be found in a depth of 17 meters, resting in a sandy bottom and blanketed by a large variety of corals and marine life.
