About Sankisan Maru

The Sankisan Maru lies near Uman, Chuuk Lagoon in 40 metres (130 feet), 17 metres to deck (50 feet) of water. She is a 4,776 ton freighter, 112 metres (367 feet) in length. The average visibility here is 25 metres (80 feet). It makes for a great night dive. The stern is crushed and its rather damaged. Once can penetrate the second hold. There's a king mast and trucks and bottles strewn around. There are even some human vertebrae and a machine gun at the bow. It originally carried aircraft engines, medical supplies & several trucks. The wreck is popular and visited often its sheltered and can be dived in bad weather.
