San Dimitri Point

San Dimitri Point is a small reef located on the North West corner of Gozo, past Dwejra and beneath the village Għarb. The dive site is characterized by a shallow plateau at the foot of 80 metre high cliffs, with an average depth of 6 metres, making it ideal for anchoring and starting or finishing the dive. The site is accessible by a 15-minute boat ride and offers stunning views of the Inland Sea, the cliffs and Fungus Rock at Dwejra. The dive begins near the boat’s anchor on the shallow reef, with divers dropping off on either side of the reef and diving a semi-circle around it. The site is known for its large boulders lying on the seabed at a depth of 18 metres between the reef and the cliff face, providing a spectacular passage for divers.

The marine life at San Dimitri Point is diverse and abundant, with a shoal of Barracuda and other fish species often spotted. Divers can also expect to see Dentex, Grouper and different species of rays. The sides and under hangs of the boulders are generally free of algae and host a variety of marine invertebrate life, including Sponges, Sea Squirts, Worms and Star Fish. The maximum depth of the site is 60 metres, and it is recommended for advanced divers due to the potential for currents. The dive site type is a wall, offering a unique underwater landscape for divers to explore.
