About Newwiela Point

Newwiela Point is a dive site situated in the southern region of Gozo. The site features a shallow plateau at around 6 metres depth, surrounded by a steep drop-off and wall that extends beyond 60 metres. The wall and surrounding areas are adorned with large boulders and sandy slopes that stretch even further down. Divers can also explore small caverns and archways near the plateau. The wall and boulders are riddled with holes that serve as hideouts for marine life such as moray eels, lobsters, and octopuses, which are frequently spotted in the area.

The dive site is recommended for advanced divers due to its depth and the potential for strong currents. The visibility varies depending on the conditions. Newwiela Point is primarily a wall dive, offering a unique underwater landscape for divers to explore. The site's diverse marine life and intriguing geological features make it a noteworthy dive location in Gozo.
