About Cathedral Cave

Cathedral Cave is a unique dive site located near Gozo. The dive begins near an inlet surrounded by large rocks. Divers are required to descend a total of 150 steps to access the site, but the effort is rewarded with a fascinating underwater experience. The site features a large hole in the side of the cliff leading to a dark cave. It is recommended that divers carry a torch for better visibility inside the cave. The maximum depth of the site is 18 meters, with an approximate maximum visibility of 37.5 meters. There is no current, making it suitable for beginner divers.

The Cathedral Cave is also home to a decent amount of marine life, adding to the overall diving experience. Divers can expect to encounter various species of fish. Despite the challenging access, the site offers a unique cave diving experience and an opportunity to explore the underwater world in a different light. The dive site type is categorized as a cave, further emphasizing the need for a torch for safe navigation.
