Blue Water Wreck

The Blue Water Wreck can be found just 34 kilometers from Labuan, to the north east of Kuraman Island, roughly 50 minutes travel via a speedboat from the Marina. This dive site is named after the transparent, blue waters surrounding it. One can expect great visibility at this dive site. There wreck is of the large Mabini Padre, a huge Philippines fishing trawler that caught fire and proceeded to sink in 1981. The ship sits on its port side in about 35 meters of water with its starboard side rising to 24 meters. The side of the ship has become a garden of soft coral (dendronephthya) with a huge amount of marine growth covering the wreck. One can easily enter the hull aft of the bridges superstructure, but be careful of any rusted metal, as it can be dangerous for divers to get too close. If swimming through the stern trawls chute, one can swim right around the stern and see the single screw.
