About Birds Head Canyon

Birds Head Canyon is located just off of Mezizim Beach on the main beach front promenade of Tel Aviv in Israel. This is one of few Med dives off of Israel where most people prefer the Red Sea and Eilat. The reef is a bit shallower than Gordon Caves and also closer to the beach so the swim to it is much shorter. The rock structure is Mediterranean reef style and the Mezizim Canyon has rich marine life. The canyon consists of a long natural crack that crosses the reef from west to east. The dive starts west of the wave barrier. Meander south through the reef until we hit the Canyon. After exploring the canyon swim back towards the wave barrier, enter and exit on Mezizim beach.
