About Wai Terang

The wreck of this Japanese World War II freighter lies just off the coast of mainland Flores. The wreck lies on its side and begins at a depth of 12 meters, dropping to 25 meters. The ship has some good hard and soft corals which are home to various small fish. One should be aware that bumping the silt bottom can cause bad visibility which, in turn, could cause one to touch a lionfish, which can be a painful experience. Although this dive does not offer much penetration it is nevertheless a rewarding dive because of the marine life on offer (including cuttlefish, eels, and anthias).
