The Canyon

This island is 1 km from Mimpang and offers some fantastic diving. Located just off the southwestern tip of Tapekong, The Canyon is a site with a maximum depth of 40 meters. You start your dive on the steep slope of the island's western side. You then swims down to a depth of 25 meters and enter the canyon. On exploration of the site you will find an area which is frequented by huge schools of sweetlips, batfish, snapper, unicornfish, humphead parrotfish, and big-eyed trevally. The abundance of the marine life in this area can almost fill the canyon. Sharks (usually white tip reef sharks) are also quite common in the area. There is almost always a current at this spot.
