Manta Point

This limestone rock is located off the southwest coast of Nusa Penida. Above the water, the limestone cliffs (which descend straight into the water) create a dramatic outline. It is advisable only to attempt this dive in the early morning, before the wind picks up, in order to avoid the strong swell. Once you reach the bare, sloping limestone rock, however, there is no real current and only some swell. The only real attraction of this site is the 2 to 4 meter wide mantas which are often at the site. There is also the odd large pelagic fish (like tuna and tiger mackerel) but if the mantas aren't at the site there is little else to see. The mantas generally feed at the site but they are not always there.
