About Lipah Bay Wreck

Lipah Bay is a black sandy bay about 3km southeast of Amed. It is home to a 20 meter steel freighter wreck which sits at around 6 to 12 meters between a reef and the sandy bottom. The wreck is covered with sponges, black coral bushes and gorgonians. One can find various examples of fish life (often including shrimps, seahorse, pipefish, and dragonfish) on the slope down away from the wreck. The area is small but Lipah Bay Reef can still make for a great snorkeling site.
