About Cornucopia

The name of this site (Cornucopia) means 'the horn of plenty' and is a reference to the strong, regular current which serves to provide the inhabitants of the multi-coloured coral of the area with a constant supply of plankton. This Wakatobi site's amazing landscape includes walls, ledges and overhangs. The steady current does not allow for much close inspection of the reef as it tends to take you on a leisurely drift along this long reef. During this drift one can take in the wonderful variety of multi-coloured hard and soft corals. One can usually see common coral fish as well as an occasional large pelagic fish, nurse shark, white tip reef shark, eagle ray, and mobula ray. The best thing about this reef is the impressive array of spectacular colours.
