About The HAV

One of the many ships sank by german Sub Commander Robert Bartels. The HAV was a GRT Cargo vessel built in 1939. She sank on 14 April 1942 while sailing for Beirut when she struck a mine laid by Robert Bartels. She sank within minutes. A few tug boats assisted immediatley and towed her to shallw waters where whe later broke up. Her remains can now be found in waters of 8 meters deep, inhabited by a large variety of marine and coral life. Little or no currents makes this suitable for all level divers.
