In a period from 1900 to 1940 Nordic cement dug chalk on the ground. In 1974, Aalborg Municipality took over the entire area and in the 80s was then opened to the public. The lake is 12.6 hectares and is 600 meters long and 200 meters wide and 12 meters deep at the deepest place. Chalk pond is surrounded by a high slope, which is between 10 and 25 meters high. It is only in the place, as specified in the driving directions that it is possible to arrive at the lake. In the lake you'll find the usual batch of bicycles and mopeds, and toppled trees. Depth decreases quite rapidly to the maximum 12 meters and is designed to be maintained just such a well, it is important that you keep away from the bottom as you quickly muck vertebrae sediment up.
