About Korsøre (Fyns Hoved)

There is hardly a more beautiful place on Fyn than the peninsula Fyns head. It has history we have known for thousands of years. The first people came here 10,000 years ago. They were hunters and in the area they could find everything they needed. At that time, the coastline was further out than it does today. So you can be lucky to find their litter such as settlements and køkkenmøddinger. Especially in the area around the small Mejlø, then land flat with the rest of Funen. Later in the Stone Age the sea rose and northern Hindsholm was divided into many islands. Very recently, also the famous painters who fynske Fritz Syberg and Johannes Larsen used the area as a motive for some of their most famous pictures. Notably Johannes Larsens' eiders hunters. " The images can be viewed at the beautiful Johannes Larsen Museum in Kerteminde that are worth a visit when you now are in the area
