About Playa Largu

This dive site can be found on the private grounds of San Juan along with three other sites: Playa Mansalina, Big Sponge, and Boka Grandi. There are no facilities here so don't forget your water and snacks. You will have to pay a small fee, but you have access to all the beaches and dive sites beyond. The quiet beaches are a great place to relax. It is usually deserted during the week. The dirt roads and seaside trails running along the cliffs are worth exploring by jeep, bike, or on foot. Playa Largu (Long Beach) is the southernmost dive site. Follow the small signs alongside the dirt road. You can park close to the water. There is coral rubble on the beach. The entry is quite rocky, so beware of shallow coral heads. Current and waves are generally light to moderate. If the weather permits, the shallow areas offer good snorkelling. To reach the drop-off, swim about fifty meter straight out. It starts at 7 meter and dropps below 40 meter where it hits a sandy plateau. Directions: Head west past Cas Abou. Look for the red and white painted rock and the small sign for San Juan on your left. If you get to Soto, you've gone too far! Follow this road to the ruins of an old land house
