About Playa Jeremi

This siste can be found just North of the small village of Jeremi. It is not as popular as the larger beaches. A large parking lot is situated atop the cliff. It has easy beach access via a concrete ramp or the adjacent steps. Facilities are limited to picnic tables, thatched parasols, and trashcans. The Beach is a quiet sandy beach. It has easy sandy entry and exit along the right side. The sheltered bay is ideal for beginning divers and snorkelers. The current is usually light. For experienced divers, the outer reef offers a fantastic variety of unspoiled corals and abundant fish populations. The reef starts 137 meters due west from shore. It might be best to snorkel out to conserve air for the dive and for your return to the beach. Black Coral and Gorgonians can be found at the upper reef from 9 to 12 meter. Star Coral, Pencil Coral, Purple Stove Pipe Sponges, and Orange Elephant Ear Sponges are at greater depth. The best diving is between 12 to 24 meter. The reef continues well below 40 meter. You can go either direction depending on the current. Head to the right, as the reef in this direction is more remarkable. Directions: Northwest of Willemstad, travel 12.3 km West on Weg Naar Westpunt from the Weg Naar Hato intersection to San Pedro. Turn left to head toward Soto. Travel 15.6 km to reach the intersection shown below in the village of Jeremi.
