About Cas Abao

Cas Abou is also known as Lower House. It is one of the nicest beaches on Curacao and a lovely beach for the whole family. The beach is sandy, clean, and quite large. Facilities include bathrooms, showers, snacks, chairs, and shade. The site is directly off the beach. This is a sheltered wall dive and all levels of divers can attempt it. You will have to pay a small fee at the gate. The dive site is about 90 meters straight out from the beach. It is marked by a mooring buoy in 6 meter of water. A heavy rope runs along the sandy bottom from the mooring and down along the drop-off to a depth of 20 meter. Currents are usually light. To the right the reef runs from 9 meter to 30 meter. It ends in a sandy plane where large groups of Garden Eels can be seen. To the left the reef wall is steeper and drops to 37 meter. Directions: To reach this site by car, head west towards Soto. Shortly after passing the turnoff to Willibrordus, turn left and follow the road past the land house.
