About Conception Bay

The main attraction of divers to Conception Bay is its four shipwrecks that date back to 1942. This area, although cold, is rated as one of the top ten places to dive in the world. The cold water has preserved the sunken ships well and there is an abundance of marine life that may be found in the area. In addition to the shipwrecks there is also a whale bone graveyard that was left from when whale hunting was permitted in the region. The shipwrecks and graveyard are not all that may attract divers to this area. There is great shore diving as well. This is located close to where one accesses the shipwrecks.
