About Rita Zovetto

The Zovetto was a Italian Cargo Steamer that was built in 1919 and originally named the War Gascon. In February 1924 she was enroute form Poti in The Black Sea to Baltimore when she and her pilot boat ran into bad weather. This resulted in her missing the channel and steering aground. Its a beautiful wreck, coral encrusted and teeming with marine life.
