About Wheeler Reef

Known to be one of the best snorkelling sites in Townsville. Easy shore entry leads to a depth of 3 meters where you can follow a gradual sand slope down to a maximum depth of 18 meters. Here you will find several spectacular caves, canyons and swimthroughs to explore. These underwater structures has a rich display of marine and coral life, thus making it ideal for micro and maro photography. Due to the excellent visibility, depth and low currents, this site is suitable for all level divers. Also a great night dive !
