About Voo doo

The Sutherland Shire surfing site in Cronulla is known as Voodoo You can gear up in the car park for this one. It's a good dive provided the weather is calm The collection of rocks on the left in the bay are the entry point somewhere between the 2nd or 3rd rock. It takes bit of swimming to break through the surf. About 250m in you'll hit Doughboy Head at 250m this is a spot where surfers usually hang out predictably an interesting experience to have from a shark's point of view! You can do this in the following ways descend and follow the gutter till you reach the bommie and then down again east or west. The Arch can be reached over the wall if you chose west and then right after the gutter. It's quite spacious with lots of life to marvel at and the viz is always good. The boats anchor along the wall where it goes down to 10m. There are a couple of caves along the wall as you head east. There are crevices in the reef and the wall dips to 28m in certain areas.

Dive Site Hazards

  • Bubble Trapping Under Overhangs — Rock overhangs can trap exhaled bubbles, reducing visibility and causing disorientation.

  • Reflected Surge Patterns — Surge reflecting off rock faces can create irregular and unpredictable water movement.

  • Current Funnel Effect — Narrow gaps between rocks can accelerate water flow unexpectedly.
