SS Courier

A steel-hulled S.S. Courier from Scotland that was pulled from service during the great depression, as stripped and scuttled on the Port Phillip Heads in 1928. The depth regarding shipping traffic in Melbourne's Port makes it a tricky dive but its is completely penetrable with abundant marine life the dream wreck dive in actual fact. The 728 ton Courier now lies at 42m with the stern and bow the better preserved parts of the hull. The deck is large and the rich red and green tiles used in first class can be seen under the silt. The stern is more penetrable than the bow keep an eye out for the two boilers behind the foredeck. It's a deep dive so plan accordingly. The only site in the entire graveyard that has been accepted by pink anemones'�.
