About Portsea Hole

One if Victoria's highest caliber sites, this is a deep hole in the sand that was once a bend in the Yara river, about 500m from the Portsea Pier. Wonderful throngs of fish here. Can only be dived in slack water its quite versatile on the depth range (14 75m) - it is used to train novices and even trimix groups in places. There's a fishing wreck on the eastern side at 25m with heavy different better for the advanced divers. On the top of the hole at 14 there are some bommies and hundreds of fish.
